Sharepoint - Open a document from a document library

  1. Go to a SharePoint site.

  2. Open the document library (usually named Documents).

  3. Select a document.

  4. Do any of the following:

    • Select Open > Open in browser.

    • If you have the desktop app installed on your computer and want to use it, select a file and then select Open > Open in app.

In the left navigation, select Documents to open the document library.


You can open a file in your browser or in a desktop Office app.
