Viewpoint - Searching for a document

Right click on the Project name and click Search

This will open up the search window alternatively you can select the Search tab at the top of the screen, which is circled below.

Once you have clicked on Search, you will see the below:

It may take a few moments for the search to complete depending on the number of entries on the project.

Search on the broadest term first and remember that Viewpoint for Projects is very specific on spelling and wording. For example, if searching for ‘Plan’ it will not find anything with the word plan if ‘Plans’ is entered.

Using the % Wildcard Search

If the exact term/phrase is not known, a wildcard search can be done using the % symbol in either the Name or Description field

%text% - will search for the item with the exact term/phrase between the % symbols
text% - will search for items that begin with the text entered before the %
text%text% - will search for an item which includes the text entered before the % symbol and the exact text/phrase encompassed between the % symbols.
